Help with Briefmark

Collect precise website feedback with element comments and screenshot regions. Preview a Markdown prompt, copy it, or download Markdown and images to share with your preferred assistant or teammate.

Get started

1. Open an ordinary website, then click Extensions → Briefmark in Chrome.
2. Choose Select an element, click the element you want to discuss, and save your comment. Use Screenshot region for visual feedback.
3. Review the prompt and choose Copy prompt or Download Markdown + images.

Page access

Browser settings, extension stores, and built-in PDF viewers cannot be annotated. After updating or reloading Briefmark, refresh the website as well. Access is granted when you activate Briefmark; no permanent all-sites permission is requested.

Find saved feedback

Choose All pages to see feedback for other URLs. This page matches the full URL, including query strings and fragments. Use the same browser profile and extension installation where you saved the feedback.

Copy and export

If clipboard access fails, Briefmark selects the prompt for manual copying. Use your browser’s Copy command. Copy prompt includes screenshot filenames; download and extract the ZIP to attach the actual PNG files.

Preserve your feedback

Before uninstalling Briefmark or moving from an unpacked preview to a store installation, download your Markdown and images. Browser storage belongs to the installation and profile. There is no automatic transfer between installations or import feature.

If a save fails, keep the draft open. Export saved feedback before deleting comments to free browser storage, then retry the save.

Privacy

The extension has no analytics, cloud sync, AI calls, or automatic sharing. You choose what to capture and when to export. Read the privacy policy for permissions, stored data, and capture limitations.
